It turns out we’re (also) morning people

Cafe 16 is the less wild sibling of "Herzl," the one that gets up early and needs coffee with something sweet on the side. In our morning version, we open the doors right onto the street and invite you to enjoy quality coffee in an urban atmosphere. We won’t mind if you prefer to take it to go, along with a well-made sandwich or a pastry with a vibe.

Towards noon, our fridge fills up with light and quick dishes from the Asian kitchen, already packed and ready for you. These are exactly the dishes that will allow you to grab a lunch at the office or enjoy a picnic in the Mesila Park, without too much hassle and mess.

The open café, blending harmoniously with the legendary building that houses us, was once called Passage Pensak, or “Beit Hama'aliya.” Next year (2025), we’ll mark 100 years since it was inaugurated. The building was designed by Tel Aviv’s first city engineer, Yehuda Magidovitch, in an eclectic style that combined European motifs with Eastern features, attempting to find a new local identity for the first Hebrew city. As usual, we embrace the past, give it full respect, and infuse it with urban renewal, without harming all the beauty left to us. Stop by Cafe 16, and you’ll immediately understand what we’re talking about.
